Daniel Falconer

Why Do You Love Reading?

I love reading because it's a relaxing way to get out of the real world and be transported to one you never knew could exist.

What Is Your Favourite Children's Book?

My favourite childhood books would have to be the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland series. They're so magical and I used to love seeing the different places it would take the reader. I'll definitely have to revisit them at some point.

What Is Your Favourite Current Book?

As an adult I'd say my favourite book franchise would be The Hunger Games trilogy. It's so real and gritty and raw. There's no fairytale ending and I think that's why it really resonated with me. Suzanne Collins doesn't give into stereotypical book endings by tying everything up neatly - she instead leaves a lot hanging open and deals with real issues.

Why Do You Love Reading?

I love reading because it transports you to another world and introduces you to some wonderful characters. Reading is wonderful escapism and takes you away from the real world - if only for a little while. I have read all my life and it remains one of my favourite hobbies.

Why Do You Love Reading?

I love to read because for a little while I can escape to a different place, fall in love with different characters and fully invest in their lives. I also love to read because it inspires me to use my own imagination and create stories of my own. Reading can brighten up the darkest day.

What's Your Favourite Children's Book?

I couldn't pick just one. I read a lot as a child and loved Roald Dahl. The BFG, Matilda and The Magic Finger were my favourites. I also loved Jaqueline Wilson as a teenager and I also enjoyed Judy Blume books and The Secret Seven collection by Enid Blyton.

What Is Your Favourite Current Book?

I still read a varied amount of different books, it's hard to choose one favourite but a few that stand out for me are The Hunger Games Triology, Blue Diary by Alice Hoffman and The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
