Murder at the Seaview Hotel by Glenda Young is out now

Murder at the Seaview Hotel by bestselling author Glenda Young is a fun, cosy crime set in Scarborough and published by Headline. It stars 12 Elvis impersonators (called Twelvis!) and when one is found dead with his blue suede shoes missing, hotel landlady Helen Dexter and her rescue greyhound Suki are on the case to solve the crime.

To celebrate the book's recent publication, we asked author Glenda Young to share seven fun facts all about the novel, so you can find out a little bit more about what's in store when you pick up your copy! Here's what she had to reveal...

1. The books stars not one, not two, not even three… but 12 Elvis impersonators; a singing troupe called Twelvis!

2. One of the Twelvis troupe even thinks he is Elvis and that’s when things take a turn for the weird.

3. The book’s set in Scarborough on the beautiful Yorkshire coast in a B&B called The Seaview Hotel. The cook at the hotel is a lady called Jean whose wonderful breakfasts have won awards for the establishment. But why is she against cooking porridge? And how will she react when she meets her first, er, spurtle?

4. Every chapter of the book was inspired by an Elvis song. It opens with Heartbreak Hotel but will the murderer be caught and end up in Jailhouse Rock?

5. Scarborough is the UK’s first and original seaside town. If you know the town, you’ll recognise the landmarks and streets in the book. And if you don’t know the town, you’ll be itching to visit after you’ve read the book.

6. If you do visit Scarborough, be sure to take in a Tony Skingle Elvis show. Tony is Scarborough’s own Elvis Tribute Artist and performs regularly at Scarborough Spa. He also helped with the research for the book.

7. This book will make you laugh and cry, sometimes on the same page. Buy tissues. Enjoy!
