Do you believe things happen for a reason?

Blood Chance

Blood Chance

The older I get the more I’m coming to believe it does, with everything in the universe coming together to ensure things mysteriously slot together at the right time and the right place.

One example is a house I bought in the past. It was under contract with the people who wanted to buy it having to sell their own home first. Their contract ran out and I bought the house that very day. Those same people sold their house the day after. But there were other things stacked against me to buy it. I needed more money than the deposit I’d saved. A long term fixed interest deposit released that very day, enabling me to afford the property. I was clearly meant to move into that house!

I also believe I was meant to be a writer. Yes I was a bookworm when I was younger, and read anything with pages, but I also jotted stories down (mostly about horses) and filled in pages and pages with handwriting. A few years down the track my mum decided to do a night time touch typing course—in the days of electric typewriters—and I tagged along. Turned out it was the best thing I ever did!

One thing led to another, and I believe that it was a toxic relationship that soon had me writing stories again as a form of escapism. (That terrible relationship gave me two beautiful girls, so yet another wonderful thing that happened for a reason). A few years later I joined Romance Writers of Australia and learned everything I could to become published. I received a contract for a gargoyle romance and a vampire romance within a couple of months of each other from two amazing publishers.

That vampire romance is now re-releasing through my new publisher Totally Bound. The story also has a new title, Blood Chance. This just happened to also be the original title I loved but wasn’t allowed to use. Yep, even the title was meant to be! I wrote this when vampire stories were riding a high wave, and I hope that wave will pick up again soon. I loved these characters and the length of the story ensures it starts with a bang and continues that way!

I’m betting everyone out there has felt at least one thing in their life that was meant to be…

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Mel Teshco is an award winning, Amazon best-selling author with a love for the written word, along with a short attention span that sees her juggling a variety of genres and heat levels in her stories. From contemporary to paranormal, inspirational to erotic, she hopes there’s a little of something for every reader out there to enjoy.

Her gypsy-like upbringing saw her living in many places along Australia’s east coast. Each new home stimulated an already over-active imagination, where she spent as much time dreaming about fantasy worlds as the real world – the fantasy sometimes being much better.

Now living on a beautiful rural property with views of the mountains to keep her fat horse, three cats, hyperactive Belgian shepherd and Rotty dogs happy, she is happily married to Mr Patience, and adores her three children and two grandchildren.
