The 21-year-old, who is currently on loan at Reading, and fellow Brazilian footballer Andrey Da Silva Ventura, 22, have been accused of "unwanted sexual contact", following an incident that took place while the two were in Canada for the Pan-Am games.

Toronto Police released a statement on Thursday, describing the alleged occurrence: "On Saturday, July 25, 2015, a 21-year-old woman, along with a friend, met two men in a nightclub in Toronto.

"The two men accompanied the women to one woman's residence. Once inside the residence, the two men sexually assaulted one of the women.

"The two men have now been identified, and arrest warrants have been issued for Lucas Domingues Piazon, 21, and Andrey Da Silva Ventura, 22."

The alleged incident happened on the same day Brazil won the bronze medal in the Pan-Am tournament, with Piazon scoring in a 3-1 win over Panama.

The statement concluded that both men are "wanted for sexual assault". The footballers would have to be extradited to Canada if they were to face charges.

A Chelsea spokesperson acknowledged that the club is "aware of reports", but declined to comment further at this stage.

Gustavo Lucas Domingues Piazón, born 20 January 1994, is a Brazilian footballer who played for Premier League club Chelsea.
