Ice Cream Mrs Beeston

Ingredients

1½ pints of milk

Rind of ¼ lemon

¼ lb. of moist sugar

4 eggs

Method

Put the milk into a saucepan with the sugar and lemon rind- allow to infuse for half an hour.

Whisk eggs and pour milk onto them.

Strain the mix into a tinned of pre-baked pastry.

Grate nutmeg over the top and bake on a low heat for ½ an hour.

Serve with Mrs Beeton’s Rediscovered Apple Crumble ice cream.
