Johnny Deep thinks his 'Pirates of the Caribbean' character Captain Jack Sparrow is gay.The actor, who modelled the swashbuckling pirate on Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, has confessed he camped-up his role to make it more realistic. He said: "I like the idea of Jack being ambiguous because women were thought to be bad luck on ships and these pirates went to sea for years at a time. There is a possibility that one thing might lead to another. You're lonely, you have an extra ration of rum, 'Cabin boy!'"The Oscar-nominated actor also revealed studio bosses demanded an explanation after they saw his unorthodox portrayal of Captain Jack.He explained: "They did come to me and say, you know, 'What's going on? What does this mean? Is he gay, is he drunk? We can't understand what you're saying. It sounds like you're slurring your words. None of it makes any sense’."Meanwhile, at the Los Angeles premiere of 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest' director Verbinski Gore confirmed Keith Richards would make an appearance in the third instalment. He said: "It was actually Johnny's idea to put Keith in the film. So, we've written a little cameo, and Keith has been kind enough to schedule us into his tour and it's going to be a lot of fun."
