Red Hot Chili Peppers star Flea has lashed out after learning the image of his idol Jimi Hendrix is being used to market a new energy drink.The Scar Tissue bassist - real name Michael Balzary - is disgusted that the company which owns Hendrix's image rights could allow his legacy to be tarnished for commercial gain.He says, "To see his image and the beautiful feelings it has created in me cheapened by advertising is very disappointing."California-based Beverage Concepts is due to release the non-alcoholic Liquid Experience drink - which plays on the title of Hendrix's debut 1967 Lp Are You Experienced - in April (06).
