The 25-year-old singer caused a stir when she got engaged to Pete Davidson last month after less than a month of dating, and it has now been reported that Justin popped the question to his girlfriend and model Hailey Baldwin - whom he previously dated in 2016 and rekindled his romance with last month - on Saturday (07.07.18).

And after some fans on Twitter claimed that Scooter Braun - who manages both Ariana and 24-year-old Justin - had set up the engagements, Ariana defended herself and the 'Sorry' hitmaker as "human beings who love and have lives".

In a now-deleted tweet, one user wrote: "First Ariana get engaged to Pete Davidson and now Justin Bieber to Hailey Baldwin the devil works hard but Scooter Braun works harder."

To which Ariana replied in a tweet which has also been deleted: "You do realize we are human beings who love and have lives ...... right .... ? And that Scooter [Braun] is a wonderful human being too who cares first [and] foremost [about] our health and happiness? Love is lit. Sh*t happens. I hope to God it happens to you too. [You] deserve it. (sic)"

The 'No Tears Left To Cry' hitmaker was then told the tweet was a joke, and she retracted her outburst.

She wrote in a second tweet: "okay okay be nice to that man. he's wonderful. and very human. always puts his artists' health and happiness first. (sic)"

Justin and Hailey are believed to have gotten engaged this weekend after two eyewitnesses claimed to have seen the proposal take place.

Both Justin's parents have since posted on social media with comments which seem to be confirming the news.

His mother, Patti Mallette wrote on Twitter: "Love Love Love Love Love Love Love."

Whilst his dad Jeremy Bieber posted a picture of his son on Instagram and captioned it: "@justinbieber Proud is an understatement! Excited for the next chapter! (sic)"
