The 29-year-old rapper-and-actress - whose real name is Nora Lum - thinks that guys can be intimidated by her because they know she has a music career with which she can use to spill details on them if they were to have a relationship that ends.

In an interview with The I Paper, she said: ""It's the voice ... Maybe they think I'll write a terrible song about them like Taylor Swift. If you get me angry enough I would."

The 'Crazy Rich Asians' star rose to fame in 2012 after releasing her feminist track 'My Vag' - a response to Mickey Avalon's 'My D**k' - on YouTube, and has since starred in several Hollywood films.

The 'Ocean's 8' actress has revealed that with her newfound stardom comes with unexpected fringe benefits that she has to take care not to exploit.

She said: "I feel sexually powerful when I walk into a room of men and they fold, I have to be careful not to abuse that."

Awkwafina is currently single and insists she has no desire to rush into a new relationship, because she is happy to sacrifice relationships for her career.

She said: "With our generation, we're starting older. We're not getting married as young. I think everyone hits an age where they start thinking about babies, but this industry complicates things. So it's hard to know. I feel like maybe I've sacrificed friendships and maybe relationships, but I don't see them as bad sacrifices. Every time I work, I'm proud of myself because I was never really passionate about anything growing up. So now I'm able to take my destiny into my own hands, I don't care if I have no friends in the end, I want to be the best I can."
