The 39-year-old singer's sons Sean Preston, 15, and 14-year-old Jayden - who she has with ex-husband Kevin Federline - have their own devices but the '...Baby One More Time' hitmaker has always had to make do with a "little phone" so she's hailed her latest purchase as "life changing".

She excitedly said in an Instagram video: "OK, guys, great news. I got my first iPad today. I am so excited...

"This is just a groundbreaking day. I’ve always had a little phone, but now this iPad is in my hands, and I feel like my life is changing as we speak, and I am so excited. Upward bound, yes!"

Britney ended the video with a nod to the sobriety test scene from his comedy 'Bridesmaids', showing off her hot pink heels with some foot moves.

She asked: "Could I do this if I were drunk, huh?"

The 'Stronger' hitmaker insisted her life "seems different" now she has an iPad.

She captioned her post: "My life does seem different with an iPad … I’ve never had one before !!!! Pssss I was proud of my new shoes at the end … I had to recreate the scene from Bridesmaids!!!!(sic)"

Britney's iPad revelation came shortly after she reassured fans she's doing well in the midst of her legal bid to have her father, Jamie Spears, removed as co-conservator of her affairs.

She said in another Instagram video: She said: “Since the cat is out of the bag, literally out of the bag and you guys know my situation I do want to let you guys know that things are way better than what I ever anticipated.”

Britney then answered questions from her supporters about other matters, including revealing her favourite Miley Cyrus song is 2013's 'We Can't Stop', which she described as "really cool", her preference for regular Lay's potato chips over baked ones, her love of vanilla-scented lotion, and her favourite clothing store.

Of the latter, she said: “My favourite clothing store is definitely J.Crew because they have clothes for men and women."
