The 28-year-old rap star recently deactivated her account on the micro-blogging platform amid an online backlash, but after reactivating her Twitter page, she's claimed that some people "live for [her]" posts.

She wrote: "Haven’t even activated my page for more then 2 hours and under every tweet faster then BG.....Shows they really live for my twitter (sic)"

Cardi frustrated some of her own fans when she released a doll of herself, rather than dropping new music.

But the chart-topping star - who is one of the world's best-selling artists - has now insisted she won't wait on anybody else before releasing her new material.

Cardi - who has Kulture, two, with fellow rapper Offset - said: "I announced my 2018 album in March 11th I knew I had to drop in April because by may my stomach was going to be to big to do music videos .That’s why I like it was the last music video I made ....Soo please tell me when did I ever wait on others to drop beside my stomach ? (sic)"

Cardi previously defended the decision to launch a doll of herself, admitting the move would help to build her "net worth".

Following criticism from her fans, Cardi said on Instagram Live: "I have so much pressure. I’m working on a lot of s*** to please people ... I wanna please my fans, because y’all been asking for something from me for a very long time that I can’t say, and I’m doing it for ya.

"'Eh, you’re dropping a f****** doll! We want an album!' How am I supposed to be rich? How am I supposed to build my net worth?"
