Chris Brown has chosen to be single.

While the 24-year-old singer has been involved in a messy love triangle with his former girlfriends Rihanna and Karrueche Tran, Chris insists he just needs some time for himself so has chosen not to date anyone right now.

He told HollywoodLife.com: "[Fans have] seen me on and off again with different girls, you know who they are, but right now, as a 24-year-old man, I just choose to be single!

"I'm still good friends with them. [Now] it's just me being focused with my music and doing this stuff. Right now, I'm in my prime."

Meanwhile, Chris has angered Rihanna by putting a duet with her on his upcoming album.

The 'Fine China' hitmaker was originally planning to axe the track, 'Put It Up', from his new album, 'X' after he and the 'Stay' singer ended their on/off relationship for good earlier this year, but announced on Twitter recently that his ex-girlfriend, 25, will definitely be making an appearance on the record.

Chris tweeted: "New album features @NICKIMINAJ, Kendrick, @rihanna, @KELLYROWLAND, @wizkhalifa, @bobatl and more surprises to come. 'X' (sic)"

Rihanna appeared to be less than impressed by his decision to release their track, recorded when they were still together, tweeting shortly after his announcement: "Phuck O.utta H.ere (sic)."

She also posted a photo on Instagram featuring the words: "you will die, be born again, die and be born again before I ever do a song with you."
