The iconic TV star made an impassioned speech, championing equality, at this year's awards show in Beverly Hills and Ivanka, 36, subsequently praised Oprah's remarks.

The American businesswoman - who is the daughter of controversial US President Donald Trump - tweeted: "Just saw @Oprah's empowering & inspiring speech at last night's #GoldenGlobes.

"Let's all come together, women & men, & say #TIMESUP! #United (sic)"

But Chrissy - who has previously been blocked by President Trump on the micro-blogging platform - was less-then-impressed by Ivanka's comments.

The Sports Illustarted model replied by saying: "ew go away (sic)"

Elsewhere, American actress Alyssa Milano called on the businesswoman to donate to the TimesUp campaign, which aims to provide support to women have been sexually abused.

Speaking in reference to accusations made against Donald Trump, Alyssa wrote on Twitter: "Great! You can make a lofty donation to the Time's Up Legal Defense Fund that is available to support your father's accusers.https://www.timesupnow.com (sic)"

Meanwhile, Chrissy previously admitted to being a long-time critic of Trump, saying that her dislike for the businessman can be traced back years.

She said: "If you go back, I've been trolling him for about five to seven years now. I've been doing this forever and I take pride in that.

"If you go back to my old ones [tweets] I was like: 'You're the f***ing worst' many years ago. I can't believe somebody could actually do this all day, every day, and still be president. It's insane."
