The One Direction star - who is expecting his first child with girlfriend Cheryl - has been busy recording his LP in Los Angeles and back in London and Conor has sent Liam some tracks he has written for consideration to be included.

Although it was believed that Liam, 23, was putting the finishing touches to the record, Conor, 24, says he's still open to more music if it fits what he wants to put out on the album.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz on the WE Day red carpet at The SSE Wembley Arena in London on Wednesday (22.03.17), he said: "I've hung out with Liam a lot of times. At the moment I know that he's working on his solo project and I know he's looking for songs for his album. Different sessions I've been in people have said, 'Oh shall we work on some amazing stuff for Liam Payne?'"

The 'Can't Say No' hitmaker enjoys writing for other artists, but does find it strange that tracks that don't work for him can be a great fit for someone else.

Conor said: "I'm always up for writing for other people. Other people take the songs you rejected for yourself it's kind of weird but sometimes it fits other people more than it fits you."

WE Day is inspired by the non-profit Facebook page WE, which was created by activists and brothers Craig and Marc Kielburger with the aim of motivating young people to have a positive impact on their communities all over the world.

Conor was making his third appearance at the event to perform for attendees and it is important for him to be involved with WE because he believes in the campaign's positive message.

He said: "It's my third WE Day; I released a song about how every time I seemed to be going on Facebook there would always be horrible posts. Why would you log in anymore? Why would you scroll through your timeline and just see horrible news around the world? But things like WE Day are positive. We should be trying to find a positive message and for me it's doing it through my music."

Conor was joined at WE Day by Paula Abdul, Fleur East, The Vamps and Jessie J.
