The 48-year-old hip hop star - who is to present the ceremony for the fifth consecutive year on February 15 - has reassured fans that there will be tributes to late stars, who will surely include David Bowie and Motorhead's Lemmy, but there has to be a "balance" during the event.

He said: "It has to be addressed, and it will be.

"Remember, there has to be a balance. There are still artists nominated for Grammys. They deserve to have an enjoyable time. We don't want it to be a wake."

As well as looking forward to the Grammys, L.L. - whose name stands for Ladies Love Cool James - was busy accepting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday (21.01.16), and admitted he was "grateful" for the recognition.

He told 'Entertainment Tonight': "It's kind of surreal.

"I'm very grateful. These are the things you dream of as a kid, you know? I'm just really grateful this day has come."

The star recently admitted he was "honoured" to have been asked to host his fifth Grammy Awards and cannot wait for an "incredible night" at the ceremony, which takes place at Los Angeles' Staples Center on February 15.

He explained: "The performances and moments that take place on the Grammy stage are awesome in so many ways for the audience and artists alike.

"I'm honoured once again to host Music's Biggest Night as we celebrate the talented music creators of today. It's going to be an incredible night and I'm excited to share this experience with the world."
