The 22-year-old singer has had huge chart success with her singles including 'Be The One' and 'New Rules', but has said she doesn't like to feel as though she's completed her life goals, because she wants to make sure she's always striving toward something new.

She said: "I don't ever want to feel accomplished, because there should always be something else to look forward to. I always want to be nervous and scared of my dreams, but at the same time, I want to be confident enough to go and get them."

One thing Dua hopes to accomplish, however, is bringing women in the music industry together, despite the ongoing idea that they should be pitted against one another.

Dua gathered her showbiz pals Zara Larsson, Charli XCX, MØ, and Alma together to help her perform a version of her song 'IDGAF', and said it was "interesting" to see so many women working together.

Speaking to V Magazine in an interview conducted by fellow singer Katy Perry, Dua said: "I did a [BBC] Radio 1 Live Lounge of my song 'IDGAF', and I hadn't actually met Zara Larsson before, but I just messaged her - we'd been friends on social media - and was like, 'Hey, do you want to come down and sing this song with me?' Then I asked Charli XCX and MØ and Alma, and I was like, 'Why don't you guys come down and sing this song with me?' It's nice to come together with other girls in the industry. It's interesting to see people just hanging out. For so many years, the media has kind of pitted girls against each other."

It isn't just music in which Dua hopes to keep pushing herself either, as it was recently revealed she has filed a request for a trademark which will be used to launch her own fashion line.

A source said: "Dua has had a great year, especially winning the Breakthrough Artist and British Female BRIT awards, but she has to tour relentlessly to make a lot of money.

"Releasing her own line of clothes, perfume or make-up would make her a fortune and the wheels have been put into motion for that to happen."
