Eddie Hassell has been shot dead aged 30.

The 'Surface' actor was struck in the early hours of Sunday (01.11.20) in Grand Prairie, a Dallas suburb, and he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A series of tweets on the Grand Prairie Police Department's Twitter account read: "On Sunday, November 1, 2020, at around 1:50 a.m., Grand Prairie Police Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 3000 block of West Bardin Road. Upon arrival, officers located victim Eddie Hassell, 30, of Waco, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. 1/3

"Officers rendered first aid to the victim and he was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

"The motive is still under investigation but detectives can confirm a car was taken from the scene and later recovered. 2/3 (sic)"Police are offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest.

A further Grand Prairie Police Department tweet read: "Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) involved. @GPCrimeStopper3 is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest. A representative for the 'Devious Maids' star told TMZ the actor had been shot in the stomach outside his girlfriend's apartment, but it is not known what led to the incident.

Eddie was best known for starring in sci-fi show 'Surface' alongside Lake Bell and Leighton Meester.

He also appeared in 2010 movie 'The Kids Are All Right' - which featured Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo - as well as comedy-drama 'Devious Maids', which was executive produced by Eva Longoria.
