The 'Wannabe' singer admitted she was "shocked" when the 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star captioned one of her posts with her alias, Baby Spice, and has now asked if the reality star would like to join the group - which includes Mel B, Mel C, Geri Horner and Victoria Beckham - to mark the milestone.

Speaking on Heart Radio, she said: "Now in the week I was sitting on the sofa, as you do, scrolling through Instagram, when I came across a picture of Kim Kardashian with her hair in pigtails and the caption saying ‘Baby Spice’. I mean, I nearly spat my tea out! Kim, I was thinking, ok so this year it’s the Spice Girls’ 25th anniversary and we definitely can’t have two Baby Spices in the band, I’m afraid not, but I’m sure the girls wouldn’t mind you joining! Hey? Let me know, and I’ll add you to the WhatsApp group!"

Meanwhile, Mel C previously revealed the Spice Girls are having a "big old rethink" about their 25th anniversary plans because the coronavirus pandemic has thwarted gig plans.

She said: "It’s high on the agenda for us girls. I mean, since we did the tour in 2019, I have just been like, ‘more shows, more shows!’ And, you know, obviously that isn’t something that’s gonna happen this year, sadly. So, again, a big old rethink. We are working on some ideas. I can’t give too much away … but we definitely wanna celebrate and really acknowledge 25 years. It’s insane. We’re so proud of our legacy. So we do want to celebrate it in the best way that we can."

Tune into Emma Bunton on Heart every Sunday 7-10pm.
