The ‘American Horror Story’ star is expecting her first child, a son, with boyfriend Garrett Hedlund, and has said she doesn’t feel overwhelmed at the prospect of becoming a first-time mother, as she has plenty of female friends and family who are already mothers and have been helping her through the process.

She said: “One of my best girlfriends she’s up every two hours breastfeeding so literally we will be like, when I can’t sleep we are texting. She’s like, ‘I’m feeding the baby,’ and I’m like, ‘Help me with this. What about this? Oh my God I forgot to buy bottles, burp cloths, where do I even get that?’ It’s been so nice to have other women to talk to that are going through that.”

Emma also feels “grateful” and “lucky” to be pregnant during this “crazy year”, as focusing on her next chapter has helped her take her mind off of the negatives of 2020, such as the coronavirus pandemic.

She added: “To be able to have something else to focus on and have something to be excited about and so I feel really, really lucky. I am just so excited to meet him, it’s like edge of my seat anticipation.”

The ‘Scream Queens’ actress also joked she’s “not as pregnant as people think” as she can still move around relatively well, but has begun getting tired “halfway up the stairs”.

During an appearance on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, she said: “[I’m] not as pregnant as people think but [I am] very pregnant.

“I’ve hit the point where like halfway up the stairs I have to sit down sometimes and maybe tears rolls down a couple times a week.”
