The 'American Horror Story' star admits there have been some ups and downs but she feels "so grateful" and "so lucky" to have something to "focus" on during the pandemic.

She said: "I’ve hit the point where like half way up the stairs I have to sit down sometimes and maybe tears roll down a couple times a week.

"But no I’m so grateful and feel so lucky especially in such a crazy year like this to have been able to have something else to focus on and have something to be excited about and so I feel really, really lucky.  I am just so excited to meet him, it’s like edge of my seat anticipation."

And Emma also feels lucky to have some friends who are pregnant too at the same as they have been like a "nice support group" for her during her own journey.

Speaking on The Drew Barrymore Show, she added: "Literally four of my close girlfriends were pregnant this year or have had a baby this year. So I have had such a nice support group of other women that either were ahead of me in their pregnancy or on their second baby so I felt so lucky that I had people to text at all hours of the day and night."

Emma previously admitted she is finding it "a wild experience" being pregnant in lockdown.

She said: "That’s become such a loaded question in 2020. Long story short: I am hungry and tired. Food and sleep do not abide by the normal laws when you’re pregnant. But I’m healthy, which is the thing I’m most grateful for.

"To see my body change inside and out so drastically has been a wild experience. Surprising and beautiful. Then again, some days I feel like I’m being hijacked by something."
