The 43-year-old singer-and-actor mourned the loss of his mother Priscilla Murray Gibson who lost the battle with COVID-19 and pneumonia on Valentine’s Day (14.02.22).

The 'Fast and Furious' star took to Instagram on Monday to announce the tragic news to his followers.

Tyrese posted a video of himself tearfully saying his goodbyes as he held onto and rubbed his mother's hand.

Whilst trying to hold back the tears, he said: “Rest in peace mom. You fought, mom. You fought. Oh my god, I’m so sorry this happened, mom. Jesus.

“I’m gonna hold your hand for the rest of my life, OK? Everywhere I go, I’m gonna hold your hand the way you held my hand when I was a kid.

"Every journey this life takes me to from here on, you’re gonna hold my hand mom, OK?”

He left a heartfelt caption underneath the video thanking everyone who prayed for his mother to make a recovery.

It read: “On behalf of my family and everyone who ever spent anytime praying tor my mother This is the saddest moment of my life ... My sweet Valentine just passed away ... May the lord Jesus Christ and his angels open the doors of heavens and embrace her ... We as a family are broken and just can’t believe this..."

Priscilla had fallen into a coma earlier in February after being placed in ICU with COVID and pneumonia.
