Fugitive boy-band mogul Lou Pearlman has been apprehended by the FBI in Indonesia after five months on the run. The former Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync boss is wanted for questioning in Florida, relating to a number of fraud investigations in the state.Pearlman left Florida in January (07) when his business empire collapsed. He was known to be in Indonesia when, in February, he contacted a Florida attorney with his return address.Early today (14Jun07) Indonesian authorities expelled the 53-year-old and turned him over to the U.S.F.B.I. officers flew him to Guam - the nearest US territory - so he could appear for a preliminary hearing. A spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Tampa, Florida, told the Orlando Sentinel, "We are aware that he is in the custody of the F.B.I., I can't comment beyond that."While Pearlman has been on the run, involuntary bankruptcy proceedings against him and his companies have taken place and this week (begs11Jun07) a number of possessions belonging to his companies - including Backstreet Boys platinum discs - were auctioned for more than $200,000 (£100,000) to raise money to repay creditors.
