The 45-year-old supermodel usually takes her kids - Helene, 14, Henry, 13, Johan, 11, and Lou, eight, whom she has with her ex-husband Seal - with her when she attends film premieres but she was adamant they couldn't tag along when she graced the red carpet at the prestigious event in Los Angeles on Monday (17.09.18) night.

Speaking to People.com on the red carpet, she said: "They always want to come with me - 'Mom, can we please come?' - but I always say, 'It's kind of work, I'm talking to a lot of television stations, we're doing photos and then we're sitting and you have to be quiet.' I think it is not as fun as a movie [premiere] or something like that, or music."

The blonde bombshell - who was nominated for two awards at the event - was joined by her toyboy boyfriend Tom Kaulitz instead and the pair sparked speculation that they were engaged after Heidi strutted down the red carpet with a ring on her finger.

After whispers began to circulate, the 'America's Got Talent' judge declared that she was merely wearing them because they matched her outfit perfectly.

Heidi - who wore a peachy figure-hugging satin dress - told 'Entertainment Tonight': "No! All these are just borrowed. They're from Lorraine [Schwartz]. They go with that necklace beautifully. I mean, look at this gorgeous necklace. And then I needed some baubles, so they're all borrowed. Don't read into anything. They're just pretty rings."

Heidi and Tom have been dating for almost a year now but she's still regularly questioned over their 17-year age gap.

She said recently: "My boyfriend is many years younger than me, and lots of people are questioning that and asking about it. That's really the only time when age seems to be shoved in my face and I have to give an answer for it. I don't really think about it that much otherwise. You have to just live a happy life without worrying too much about what people think because worrying is only going to give you more wrinkles."
