The 23-year-old actress - who scooped Sexiest Female at last night's (03.10.16) Inside Soap Awards - reprised her role as Lauren Branning earlier this year in a shock storyline that saw her return with Steven Beale.

And Jacqueline says fans are finally going to find out why her alter ego left Walford with boyfriend Peter Beale to start a new life in New Zealand, only to return with her lover's half-brother, telling people she had split from Peter.

She teased: "You're going to find out actually quite soon.

"That's what everyone's been saying. Peter's just gone and she's going out with his brother, why?"

"It starts to unravel and you kind of start to think okay this is why, this is what happened. It's interesting."

Jacqueline can understand the attraction for Lauren with both Beale brothers.

Asked about which brother she would choose, Jacqueline told OK! Online at the Inside Soap Awards: "Her heart lies with Peter but if she's going to do what's good for her, Steven is the safe bet.

"I think she likes the feisty side of Steven. She's a bit like that too, remember, she ran over her own dad.

"She sees herself in Steven a little bit.

"I like it, it's very interesting, that's why it works. And Peter's Mr. Good Guy so it's fun because does she go for Mr. Good Guy or Mr. Bad Guy?"

Jacqueline is also enjoying seeing her character being the sensible one of the family, with younger sister Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) showing her "evil" side.

She said: "I love it. Remember when Lauren was the dark one? Know she's playing the mum.

"See how long that lasts."
