The 'Hart of Dixie' star insisted she chose the two stars to be involved in the upbringing of two-year-old James and 15-month-old Leo Thames because they share the same values as her and husband Kyle Newman, not because of their fame.

She told E! Online: "It really has nothing to do with the fact they're Taylor Swift or Jessica Alba.

"It's a collective way of raising your children that has to do with the fact that you're choosing people who will help spiritually guide them and be there."

And though he is only 15 months old, Jaime, 37, says her youngest son has already connected with his godmother Taylor though her music.

She added: "You know, when Leo hears Taylor's music he understands she writes those things and she brings those things. They feel the love and the support, and that's the most important thing."

Jaime often juggles motherhood with work and brings her children to set with her, something she thinks is a positive experience for the youngsters as it allows them to experience diversity.

She said: "Raising my kids on set has been amazing because they know I'm there, but they're also growing up in an environment where they're surrounded by a lot of different people from a lot of different backgrounds.

"What I really appreciate about my childhood, growing up in the Midwest, is that I was exposed to a mix of everything and that's so important for them to experience."
