The 48-year-old star has been dating the retired baseball player since February last year, and the singer-and-actress said the couple are "In a really great time in our lives" and looking forward to the next chapter.

She told 'Entertainment Tonight': "[We are] Happy personally, professionally. The future is super bright and I feel like we both feel like we're just beginning. We're beginning a new chapter of our lives, in every way. And it's exciting."

The 'On The Floor' hitmaker - who has 10-year-old twins Max and Emme from her third marriage to Marc Anthony - was speaking on the red carpet at the Time 100 Gala at the Lincoln Center in New York on Tuesday night (24.04.18), where she was honoured for being one of the most influential people of 2018 by TIME magazine.

Jennifer, who was listed alongside the likes of Cardi B, Tiffany Haddish and Gal Gadot on the influential list, said: "It really is an honour. And I love that it's in New York. Whenever I come to New York, I always feel like it takes me back to the beginning, to the Bronx and everything. And then to be here and be honoured tonight, I'm humbled. I really am. It's an incredible acknowledgement."

Alex also took to the stage to congratulate his girlfriend and gushed about how great it was to see that Jennifer is "gorgeous" on the inside and out.

Speaking in support of his partner, he said: "I'm so flattered to be sitting here kind of in the bullpen, in the bleachers, talking about the Bronx, just kinda watching her. She's getting everything she deserves, and it's just really, really nice to see,

"It is so great that I get to see how gorgeous she is on the inside and the outside on a night like tonight.

"[It's] such a special night in New York City. I'm just happy to see her get her due. It's gonna be an awesome night."

As well as bringing the 42-year-old hunk as her date, the 'Jenny From The Block' hitmaker was also accompanied by her mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, and her sister, Lynda Lopez.
