The 48-year-old actress is mourning the death of her pet pooch, whom she described as “like a daughter” to her, after the pup passed away recently.

When asked how her loved ones are doing amid the coronavirus pandemic, she told ‘Extra’: "Everyone I know is healthy, people wise. My dog just passed, which I don't want to talk about, but that was one of the hardest things I've had to go through this year. She was like a daughter to me.”

Although Jenny didn’t specify which dog had passed away, she and her husband Donnie Wahlberg have been pet owners to French bulldog Lumpy and black Shih Tzu's Gunner and DJ.

In January last year, the couple added two Pomeranian puppies to their family, and introduced them to their Instagram followers the same month.

Jenny wrote alongside a picture of Donnie with their pups: "Introducing Drogon and Nymeria Wahlberg to our family. So happy. #furbabies #pommeranian (sic)”

Meanwhile, the couple - who married in 2014 - renewed their vows earlier this year over Zoom, with Donnie surprising Jenny with the romantic gesture on their sixth wedding anniversary on August 31.

The 51-year-old singer managed to get Jenny's 'The Masked Singer' colleagues to arrange a fake work meeting and when she picked up the call from her husband, she was still in her pyjamas whilst getting her make-up done for the show.

Jenny explained: "Every year, Donnie surprises me with renewing our vows ... but this year, I was in Los Angeles shooting 'Masked Singer'.

"But that sneaky fella, he got into cahoots with the 'Masked Singer' group and said, 'Can you lie and say there's a zoom meeting call' and I signed in without any hair or makeup, just in my pyjamas and up on the screen is Donnie and our minister and we renewed our vows on the Zoom call."
