The long-running comedy sketch show has always attracted big names as guest host, but the 'Pretty Woman' actress admitted she was too "intimidated" by the high standard of humour to accept requests to step in.

She said: "I grew up watching 'SNL' in the late '70s, early '80s... This was the perk of divorced parents. It was Land Shark and... John Belushi at his best. It always really intimidated me how funny and clever that show was, so when I was asked to do it a long time ago I always said no because I was too afraid, too afraid to blow it."

But the 50-year-old actress may change her ind if she's approached again.

She told 'Extra' reporter Mario Lopez: "I haven't gotten a call from Lorne Michaels -- we'll see if that ever happens!"

Meanwhile, the 'Wonder' star - who has twins Phinnaeus and Hazel, 12, and son Henry, 10, with husband Daniel Moder - has set down some "specific and strict" rules about using social media to her children, because she admitted she doesn't really understand why strangers engage in trolling behaviour onlinr.

She said: "We have very specific and strict rules... Talking about wanting to protect your children from things, and the slings and arrows of strangers, is something I still as a grown-up cannot comprehend, and the sport of negativity, I just don't get it. If it's something I don't think I can really explain well to my children, then it's not something we're going to get involved in."

But when it comes down to herself as a teenager, Julia had more trivial matters to fret about.

Asked what advice she would give to her teenage self, she quipped: "Don't worry so much about your hair."
