The 'Modern Family' star split from her husband Scott Phillips last month after 13 years of marriage, and it has now been revealed she is seeking documentation of his financial records as part of their divorce.

According to The Blast, Julie - who has Oliver, 10, and twins John and Gustav, eight, with her estranged spouse - is looking for records related to any bank accounts in his name, as well as any records related to any money he either made or paid out.

As of the time of writing, it is unclear why Julie wants the records, but it could be leading up to a settlement on child support for their brood.

Julie separated from the real estate investor last month, after having not been spotted on a red carpet together since September 2016 at the Los Angeles LGBT Center's 47th Anniversary Gala Vanguard Awards in West Hollywood, where Julie, 47, joked that the pair were too "tired" to think about getting divorced.

She said at the time: "We watch all these people get married and split up and go, 'Wait, did they get married after us or before us?' We outlast all these people. The answer: We're too tired to do anything else!

"At first I loved my husband and then I loved the kids and now I love our family. When I see my husband with my kids, it makes me so happy. When I see my kids all sitting down at the table together, I'm like, 'This is awesome. We did this!'"

Julie and Scott celebrated their anniversary on the day of the Emmy Awards in 2016, and the actress revealed that she'd allowed him to stay at home so that he didn't have to be a "purse holder" on their special day.

She said at the time: "We just had our anniversary on the day of the Emmys which was hilarious. He's come every year, he's been so supportive and this year he was playing in a tennis tournament and I wasn't nominated as an individual so I said, 'What do you want to do on our anniversary?' I mean it's such an honour to be nominated and to go, but it's tough to be a purse holder."
