According to a TV insider, show bosses are willing to fork out a "substantial fee" to get the 43-year-old star on the show that will air later this year as Katie has lots of fans Down Under.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Katie's really popular in Australia. If she goes on 'The Morning Show' she always trends.

"There's a real excitement about her - producers watched her on the British version and instantly knew that she'd be a hit with Aussie viewers."

The former glamour model has plenty of experience at starring on reality TV - having gone to the jungle in Australia for 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' in both 2004 and 2009 and winning the UK version of 'Celebrity Big Brother' in 2015 - but Katie was shocked to triumph in the latter as she was quiet during her time in the house.

However, the insider says that is what appeals to the viewers.

The source added: "That's exactly the reason she'd be great - it's a side to her we don't often see. There had been a few British names suggested, but Katie is first choice.

"Every option is being considered to make this an offer she can't refuse."

Meanwhile, the mother-of-five recently confessed that she started "balding" after having children.

Katie said: "When I started modelling I had really long hair and started colouring it.

"I had kids and started balding, had extensions, but do you know what, I have to give my hair a rest.

"Hair is very important, it's your identity. For me it is a confidence thing.

"Losing your hair can be traumatic, whatever the reason. It could be genetic, stress related or the side effects of cancer treatments like chemotherapy."
