Kim Cattrall's feud with Sarah Jessica Parker is reportedly the reason for the cancellation of 'Sex and the City 3'.

The 61-year-old actress starred as Samantha Jones in the hit HBO TV show and its subsequent two movie spin-offs, and was recently accused of making "diva demands" which are said to have caused the hotly anticipated third movie to be cancelled by Warner Bros.

Kim has since denied making such demands, but it has now been claimed that frayed relations between her and her co-star Sarah Jessica Parker - who played Carrie Bradshaw - during the filming of the second movie made it impossible to push forward with the third instalment.

A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "Kim felt Sarah thought she was more important than the others. By the time filming was wrapped, Kim was telling her team she would never do another film with Sarah. She couldn't take the negativity between them."

Sarah Jessica's representative has reportedly told the publication this is not the case, but declined to comment further.

It isn't the first time the pair have feuded recently though, as Kim slammed Sarah Jessica, 52, for saying she was "disappointed" in the movie's cancellation, as Kim believes she "could have been nicer" and stuck up for her.

Sarah Jessica had said previously: "It's over ... we're not doing it. I'm disappointed. We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story. It's not just disappointing that we don't get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie."

And days later, Kim fired back in a separate interview: "And now, now at this very moment it's quite extraordinary to get any kind of negative press about something that I've been saying for almost a year of 'no' that I'm demanding or a diva.

"And this is really where I take to task the people from 'Sex And The City' and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker in that I think she could have been nicer. I really think she could have been nicer."
