The former NBA star has announced that he's packing up his belongings and jetting across to Shenzhen after signing a contract with Ninety Plus - which hosts concerts and music festivals and has previously worked with Akon - according to Page Six.

Writing in a since-deleted tweet, the 38-year-old basketball player said: "Happy & proud to announce that I have a signed a global management contract with my new @NinetyPlusOfficial family. I feel so happy to be writing new episodes of my life in another country that's so huge in basketball. I am grateful to have you all as my supporting fans through my ups and downs. (sic)"

That's not the only business venture Lamar has coming up as he's planning to release an autobiography - which will tell all about his sporting career, his drug abuse and his failed marriage with Khloe Kardashian - in February 2019.

His tome will also go into detail about his brush with death when he was hospitalised in 2015 after a near-fatal drug overdose in a brothel and subsequent recovery.

A source said recently: "He will also talk about ... what really went on in those hospital doors and what the world didn't get to see as well as rehab.

"We get to read about a side of Lamar Odom we never got to see on 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' or 'Khloe & Lamar' nor on the basketball court."

Lamar hopes his story can be an "inspiration" to other people.

He said: "I"m very excited to work with BenBella Books, Inc. to release my very first book! My fans have always been the best and I really wanted to release this book to give you all a chance to get to know Lamar Odom and my real story, directly from me.

"I hope to [be] an inspiration to many that you can overcome adversity and challenge no matter where you fall from."
