In a random post, the ex-Oasis frontman has stated he won't be making music on his own and says anyone who thinks he is must be "tripping".

The unprompted tweet read: "Solo record are you f***ing tripping d***head im not a **** LG X (sic)"

The outburst was preceded by a near undecipherable message written by the 43-year-old singer which stated: "Excuse me sir has your dog been at your passport why you jealous fatty LG X"

Liam, 43, has not released any new music since his post-Oasis band Beady Eye - which he formed with Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock - disbanded in October 2014 after making two albums.

Oasis split in 2009 when Liam's older brother Noel Gallagher walked out on the group following a furious backstage bust-up with his sibling.

Noel, 48, has gone on to release two critically and commercially successful solo albums under the name Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

Rumours have circulated for months that Oasis are set to reunite this year with the warring brothers allegedly reaching a "gentlemen's agreement".

But in recent weeks Noel has set the record straight insisting he has no plans to get back together with his younger sibling and stating they will definitely not be playing at Glastonbury.

He said: "I can categorically state I won't be doing Glastonbury, so don't go down the bookies. Neither will, Beady Eye or any other off-shoot band that ever came from Oasis. I don't know what I'm doing but I'm not doing that. I'm gonna go to Glastonbury though, but won't be playing."

Fans hopes of an Oasis were bolstered when Gem joined Noel for a series of acoustic shows in December culminating with a set at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
