The 'Roll With It' rockers abruptly split in 2009 after the 49-year-old rocker had an argument with his elder brother and bandmate just before they were due to perform a gig in France and Liam admits that he found it tough to take as he thought that the group would last forever.

Liam told The Sunday Times newspaper: "Beady Eye wasn't happening. Noel's thing (Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds) was taking off, my marriage was breaking up, I had a kid in New York.

"I thought, 'I'm in the s*** here.'"

The 'Everything's Electric' hitmaker continued: "I had to knuckle down, get my head together, sort my private life out. I thought, 'I'm either going to end up sitting in the pub all day, not a pot to p*** in and having ruined lots of people's lives, or I can sort out of my napper (head)."

Liam has been embroiled in a war of words with Noel, 54, since Oasis split more than a decade ago and he confirmed that he had not seen his sibling for years.

He said: "He just seems like a different person. It's like he's been abducted... But you know I love him. We split up nearly 13 years ago. It's ridiculous. We can go on about whose fault it is, but he's his own man.

"If he really wanted to get in contact, for my mum's sake, he could do it, but he obviously doesn't want to. There are only so many olive branches you can offer."

Liam also revealed that he would "love" for Oasis to get back together some day despite his turbulent relationship with Noel.

He said: "I'd love Oasis to get back together. If it happens, it happens. But I'm quite happy doing (my solo career). We should never have split up, but we did, and this is where we're at."
