The business mogul is back running his eye over a new batch of entrepreneurs tonight (06.10.16) and has promised fans the first show is unmissable.

He tweeted: "It is great opening episode.. Antique Road show on steroids (sic)"

As in previous years, Lord Sugar will be live tweeting the episode to tell fans what he really thinks of the hapless hopefuls.

He posted: "The Apprentice is back tonight at 9pm BBC-1 . Antique road show eat your heart out. I will be tweeting along with the show (sic)"

And advisor Claude Littner has admitted he wasn't particularly thrilled by some of the hopefuls' efforts in the task.

Urged by one follower to "go easy in week one", he simply tweeted: "NO"

And when another said they were looking forward to seeing his "disappointed face", he replied: "In that case, you mostly won't be disappointed!"

As a third follower advised he "give them hell", he quipped: "Sorry...'Hell' does no come close!!(sic)"

Meanwhile, though the Amshold group chairman is impressed with tonight's episode, his advisor Lady Karren Brady particularly enjoyed another of the tasks, which will be seen later in the series, that saw the contestants making gin.

Karren admits she and Claude enjoyed the alcohol so much, they forgot they were only supposed to be tasing it, not quaffing it.

She said: "Mine and Claude Littner's favourite task was when they produced gin. We had to try it, of course, and it was pointed out that our spittoon (where you're supposed to spit it out) was empty. We were just drinking the gin - we took that day pretty seriously! There's another one where they host an event at an attraction. I called it Carry On Up The Aquarium - it's hysterical."
