The chart-topping singer is already discussing a follow-up to her festive show, which featured big-name guests like Ariana Grande, and Mariah could even work with an unlimited budget next time around.

A source explained to The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "Mariah created the Christmas special for Apple as a one-off but it was a runaway hit.

"No one could have predicted its success and it went to No. 1 in their charts in over 100 countries. Bosses at Apple now want to secure her for another special show next year. Mariah’s team are, of course, completely behind it and everyone is going to do what they can to make it happen.

"They spent over £4 million on this year’s show but next year this could go even higher. Apple know the worth of Mariah and are willing to splash the cash to make a follow-up even bigger and better."

Meanwhile, the pop star previously admitted she wanted the show to embody the "spirit" of Christmas.

Mariah explained: "I don’t always love the use of the word magic when it comes to Christmas. But for this … it is. It’s more like, here’s the spirit - what we want to feel right now.

"We really need to just feel Christmas, no matter if we can’t be with our loved ones."

The special featured the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Tiffany Haddish, and Snoop Dogg, and Mariah was delighted that she was able to bring them all together for the show.

She said: "I was so excited to work with so many incredible artists and just really try to bring [this] to life."
