The 46-year-old actor continued his ongoing fictitious feud with the 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' presenter and quipped he hopes the 49-year-old American star's gig at this year's Oscars awards, which will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, on February 26 will be a huge failure.

And the 'The Martian' star has predicted Jimmy will slate him when he takes to the stage later this month to helm the star studded event.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the dark-haired hunk said: "[I wish Jimmy] horrible things. I'm sure he'll have something horrible to say about me but I'd expect that. I'd expect nothing more from him. I wouldn't expect him to be kind of a bigger man about any of this."

And Matt is "sad" last year's presenter Chris Rock, who he believes is "actually funny", will not be taking over the ceremony.

He continued: "I'm just sad Chris Rock isn't hosting the show, someone who's actually funny."

The Massachusetts-born actor has openly slated Jimmy as part of their ongoing fake feud and quipped he is surprised he is still in work because he believes he is "pretty unprofessional".

He explained: "It's a testament to the brilliance of his writing staff that he still has a job. I don't think it's much of a secret that he's pretty unprofessional and not very funny. That just really speaks to the skill, incredible skill of that team he's got working for him, and it's a massive team.

"You know, I've been doing a lot of therapy around that and I'm just being told to just kind of let it go, just kind of brush it off and just kind of move on."
