In the TV special, 'Buble at the BBC', which was filmed before it was revealed that his eldest son Noah, three, has been diagnosed with cancer, Michael gushed about his love for Noah and eight-month-old Elias.

He said: "When I became a dad for the first time, I think I was given that sense of perspective for the first time. I just said, 'You know I really want to be a dad and I want to enjoy this and I want to live it and know what it is and what it's like'.

"So that's kind of what I did. I really, took the time so I could just be there.

"I just didn't know that that level of love existed, and I just love them so much that I think part of loving them so much and wanting to give them everything, sometimes is not giving them everything, and that's a tough thing for me."

And he admitting balancing work and family life has been tough.

He said: "Yeah, it's tough, you know, really tough. As you can imagine. One of my son's, Noah, is three, and the other is eight-months, his name is Eli.

"Noah said to me, 'Pappy, for what are you going?' And I said, 'Well daddy's going to go and sing' and it kills you when he says 'please don't go' and 'I'll be a good boy'."

Meanwhile, Michael posted a statement on his Facebook page to reveal that Noah is battling cancer and undergoing treatment in the United States.

He and his wife Luisana Lopilato said: "We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US. We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children.

"Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well. At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy. We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing."
