The Liberty X singer admitted herself to rehab after struggling with alcohol addiction - which had seen her drinking up to two bottles of wine and a bottle of vodka virtually every day since 2018 - and now she has returned home, she admits she has been "mourning" the loss of alcohol.

She shared: "Today I've been low. Cried a lot, for no particular reason, heart heavy and sad, like I'm mourning a friend. But the friend wasn't a friend ... it was alcohol."

However, she had the support of her youngest son Aaron, seven, and it managed to help "stop" the mourning, and her heart was "filled with love and gratefulness" again.

Sharing her honest journey with her fans on Instagram, she added: "Then just now this little man hugged me and told me he was proud of me and 'Don't cry mummy, it's all gonna be ok' then the mourning stopped. And my heart again filled with love and gratefulness."

Meanwhile, Michelle – who also has Faith, nine, with her husband Hugh Hanley - previously vowed to "never touch drugs or alcohol again", as she says she's a "lucky woman" to be alive.

She explained: "I'll never touch drugs or alcohol again because I'll die.

"If I was to pick up one drink it would be lapse. Who’s to say that one drink wouldn’t lead to another? I just feel like the luckiest woman in the world because I’m here.

"I get to tell my story in my words and I’m still alive. I have the most beautiful family and friends. And I really do feel I deserve a second chance. I’m not going to give up on any dreams now."
