The 34-year-old professional wrestler became an aunt for the first time in May last year when her twin sister Brie Bella gave birth to her daughter Birdie - whom she has with her husband Daniel Bryan - and whilst Nikki previously wasn't bothered with starting a family, the tot has made her change her mind.

Speaking in a preview clip of the upcoming season 2 premiere of 'Total Bellas', Nikki said: "I just look at Birdie's face and never thought I could have this connection with a baby. I want to give her everything and make sure she has the greatest life. I've never felt that unconditional love."

To which Brie responded: "Or Birdie is placed here on this planet to let you know you can have a connection like that with your own."

The episode was filmed whilst Nikki was still engaged to John Cena - whom she split with last month - and the sisters later discussed the 41-year-old wrestler's aversion to having children.

Nikki said: "I was like 100 percent okay not being a mom but Birdie just gets cuter by the day. [I tried to bring it up again and he said] absolutely not."

And in an interview segment, Brie hit out at her sister's relationship, claiming she needed to leave John to find someone who was willing to start a family with her.

She said: "It's such a load of s**t. Nicole, what the f**k are you doing? There's someone out there who will marry you and give you babies. Someplace in your heart you have to be like, 'I love you, you're a great man, you're just not for me.'"

John had previously spoken about his decision to not have children, but turned heads recently when he gave an interview claiming he "would love" to start a family with his former fiancée.

He said: "I still love Nicole, I still would love to marry Nicole, I still would love to have a family with Nicole.

"There was an unfortunate set of circumstances where our relationship ended. There's been a lot of speculation recently about me being seen in public, and everyone's been like, 'Oh John Cena's enjoying the single life.' No, I was supposed to be married and have a honeymoon over these two weeks.

"I am in my house alone surrounded by these emotionally strong memories. And everyday from 6 to 9 I get out of the house and talk to strangers as social interaction.

"I don't want anybody else. I love Nicole and I'm really trying to support her in her trying to find whatever it is she wants that made this fall apart in the first place."
