The ‘Carnival Row’ star and his fiancé Katy Perry welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove into the world two months ago, and sources have now said Orlando - who is also father to nine-year-old son Flynn, whom he has with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr - has done everything he can to make his daughter his “priority”.

An insider said: “Orlando has made Daisy his priority and slashed a lot of his work time to stay home for the holidays. Orlando is so happy about being a new dad again. He has been doing the night feeds and helping out however he can, [and is] super involved.”

Orlando, 43, and the ‘Daisies’ hitmaker, 36, have grown “closer” since becoming parents, and are both focused on “spending time” as a family.

The source added to Us Weekly magazine: “At first they were concerned that Katy was going to have to jump straight back into work, but she’s been fully focused on being a mom and happy staying home and spending time with Daisy. They don’t have any trips planned as of now.”

Meanwhile, Katy recently said Orlando has been “doing a great job” of taking care of their daughter whilst she has been back at work on the set of ‘American Idol’, where she sits on the judging panel.

Speaking last month, she said: "It's hard a little bit these first couple of days away and not being able to be there. But Daddy's doing a great job. Daddy has stepped in. I've seen him with the bottle, I've seen all the pictures. It's all good.”

Katy’s comments come after Orlando referred to himself as “the baby whisperer” because of how easily he can soothe Daisy.

He said: “When Katy was pregnant, I chanted to the baby with a Buddhist mantra which I have used since I was 16.

“So now I walk into the room and she hears my voice and she soothes a bit.

"And when I'm walking around with her I will chant in her ear and she likes it, she responds to it very nicely.

“Katy is a bit like 'what?!' It's like I'm the baby whisperer. I am definitely winning the daddy points.”

The ‘Outpost’ actor also said it’s been a “blessing” that Daisy has proven to be such an easy baby so far.

He explained: “She's sleeping through the night. It's always a journey with little bubbas coming into the world. They have to get back to their baby weight in that process.

“She's now back to her baby weight and she's now sleeping from nine until six which is unbelievable. It's a blessing."
