Paris Jackson has claimed she didn't "storm out" of the Dior fashion show last week and instead "walked out quietly" to show her disapproval of horses being whipped.

The 20-year-old actress - the daughter of the later pop singer Michael Jackson - hit the headlines over the weekend after she allegedly stomped out of the Dior Couture spring/summer 2019 Cruise collection showcase in Paris, France, in "a rage".

However, the brunette beauty has since taken to her social media sites to clarify her reasons for leaving the show, which started late due to the rain, just as it began.

She wrote: "to be clear, i did not "storm out" of the show. i quietly got up and walked out trying my hardest to not cause a scene, because i do not support animals being branded and whipped. not trying to become enemies in the fashion world in any way, but i will always be myself. furthermore, i was not 'enraged,' just taken by surprise and a little heartbroken. and i have no doubt that all high end fashion brands will soon switch over to no-fur and anti animal cruelty, as that seems to be the pattern here. and we should all be very excited about that! [sic]"

A source confirmed to People.com that she had walked out quietly.

Multiple publications, including WWD.com and The New York Times newspaper, reported that the actress had caused some disruption by angrily storming out of the show - which saw the models trot down the runway on horseback - barefoot.

Paris wasn't ashamed to say she left the event early as she posted a picture on her Instagram account of herself standing barefoot in the park in the pouring rain.

She captioned the shot: "left early n did this [sic]"
