The 21-year-old son of the late pop legend Michael Jackson is remaining coy about the name of the new beau in his life, but although he doesn't want to reveal her identity, he has gushed over the "important balance" she brings to his life.

He said: "I think in everything there's an important balance. I think that I'm a certain way, and she's very - I don't want to say opposite - but complementary in a way that we balance each other out. I'm more aggressive, she's a little softer."

Prince added that the mystery woman "encourages" him to "see things through a different light" and vice versa, which he believes "helps [them] to stay well-rounded."

When he's not spending time with his partner, Prince - who lost his father in 2009 when he was just 12 years old - works closely with the Dee Dee Jackson Foundation, which was named after the late ex-wife of his uncle Tito Jackson, and which supports other children who have undergone traumatic experiences.

Speaking about the organisation, he said: "This foundation is very important because it comes from an inspiration for my cousins that want to help kids that have gone through some serious or significant loss in their life. Children are the future, of any generation and every generation. To make sure that they have the healthiest upbringing possible despite everything that happens in their life is really crucial."

Prince knows he and his younger siblings - 20-year-old Paris and 16-year-old Blanket - were lucky to have the 'Thriller' hitmaker as a father, and says he did a "great job" of preparing them for the real world before he passed.

Speaking to People magazine, Prince said: "My dad did such a great job raising us that he gave us the tools to succeed. Obviously, it was cut short and we didn't get to learn as much as we should have, but he did give us enough to succeed on our own."
