According to the Daily Mail newspaper's Sebastian Shakespeare column, accounts recently filed show that the 'After Life' star's Red Lion 100 company currently holds £8 million in cash – despite paying out a £505,000 dividend to the comedian last year.

Ricky – who is worth an estimated £55 million – previously said of his wealth: "I know it sounds a lot, but remember, I donate a lot of this to good causes (the Inland Revenue mainly)."

The 'Office' star previously explained that his modest upbringing showed him the "value of everything" and insists that he has never lost sight of what is important despite his fame.

Ricky, an outspoken supporter of animal rights, said: "It showed me the value of everything.

"People ask me why I dress like a tramp. And I say, 'My clothes are clean and comfortable. Who am I trying to impress?' I don't wear £50,000 watches. I don't collect cars because I can't drive.

"Nothing gives me more of a buzz than to help an animal. I don't get excited about things. I'm not a hippie or communist, I think money's for the safety of your family and friends, and you can't take it with you."

Meanwhile, the comic recently branded coronavirus a "****" after receiving his first dose of the vaccination.

The 59-year-old comedian shared a photo of himself having the vaccine injected into his arm on Twitter.

He captioned the snap: "Take that, you Covid c***!" (sic)
