The 49-year-old comic spent hours being transformed into the US leader to attend a conservative convention in his new movie 'Borat Subsequent Moviefilm' but had a close call when he was stopped by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents.

He said: "Basically, I woke up at 1 in the morning. They transformed me. We had a prosthetics team transform me into Donald Trump, then I put on a fat suit, 55 inch fat suit, because that's what the prosthetic team said equated his size perfectly.

I did Trump's hair differently, got past CPAC security, got past the TSA.

“Actually, the TSA were kind of wanding me.

"It went past my chest and it beeped, and I was terrified obviously. The moment they touch my body, it’s a fat suit, so I wouldn’t have been allowed in.”

They said, 'What is that? Why is it beeping?' And I said, 'Er, it's a pacemaker.' It got down to my belly and beeped again and he said, 'What's that?' I didn't know what to say. Then he said, 'It's the wire to the pacemaker, right?' "

Sacha then spent several hours at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) hiding in a bathroom until it was time to come out.

He jokingly added in an interview on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show': "Then I spent five hours hiding in the bathrooms at CPAC, listening to conservative men go to the toilet. And I will say, Stephen Miller, if you’re watching this, you need more fibre in your diet. It shouldn’t take that long."
