Seth Meyers has tested positive for COVID

The 48-year-old TV star has taken to social media to confirm his diagnosis, and also revealed that his talk-show has been cancelled for the remainder of the week.

He wrote on Twitter: "The bad news is, I tested positive for COVID (thanks, 2022!) the good news is, I feel fine (thanks vaccines and booster!) We are canceling the rest of the shows this week, so tune in next Monday to see what cool location we will try and pass off as a studio!!! (sic)"

Seth previously hit out at misinformation surrounding COVID-19 treatments.

The comedian - who was previously a cast member on 'Saturday Night Live' - ridiculed some of the ideas that have been suggested since the start of the pandemic.

He said: "First it was hydroxychloroquine, then it was bleach, powerful lights, now it’s horse dewormer? I’m honestly terrified to see what’s next.

"One day, we’re going to wake up and Brian Kilmeade’s going to be telling people you can cure COVID by eating kibble and sleeping in a bed of kitty litter."

Meanwhile, fellow chat-show host Jimmy Fallon has also tested positive for COVID-19.

The 47-year-old comedian was diagnosed with the virus over the festive period.

He wrote on Instagram: "Hey guys, on the first day of our holiday break I tested positive for Covid. I was vaccinated and boostered which made me lucky enough to only have mild symptoms. Thank you to the doctors and nurses who work so hard around the clock to get everyone vaxxed. Thank you to NBC for taking the testing protocols so seriously and doing a great job - and also thanks for putting me in the “What ‘chu talkin’ about Willis?” isolation room when they told me the news. (sic)"
