Simon Pegg thinks pubs are "fantastic" even though he doesn't drink.
The 43-year-old British actor gave up alcohol years ago but claims he still enjoys drinking water in a good pub, even though he finds it difficult to relax around people he doesn't know now that he is famous.
Speaking at world premiere of 'The World's End' at the Empire Cinema in London's Leicester Square on Wednesday (10.07.13), he told BANG Showbiz: "I used to love pubs, they were great. I don't drink anymore, so the reason to go into a pub is less and less for me. Also, because of our job, it means it's not that easy to just relax and have a good time. People always want to come and say hello, which is great, there's nothing wrong with that, but if you just want to read the paper quietly in the corner, you can't do it.
"Pubs are fantastic, they're places where everyone can go and hang out together. It's a public house, I went to a pub in Highgate called The Shepherd and I suddenly understood what that meant - it's a place where you can share a living room together and get drunk."
The film is the third and final instalment in director Edgar Wright's 'Cornetto Trilogy', and Simon is very excited to see what fans think of the movie.
He said: "I'm very excited to be premiering our last film in this cycle of films. It means a hell of a lot. It's a very British film. But there's nothing they won't get, there's no humour they wont understand. Friendship, looking back, nostalgia, it's all a universal idea and I think everyone can relate to it.
"If you liked 'Shaun of the Dead' and 'Hot Fuzz' then this is exactly what you want. It's very funny, Edgar's an incredible director, he has an amazing talent, which I'm never not impressed by. I find him to be a true genius."
