Simon Cowell's ex-girlfriend has won congratulations from the music mogul on her pregnancy.

The television presenter announced on September 22 that she's expecting her first child with Clark Mallon, and Cowell took to Twitter to reveal both his and Lauren Silverman's delight for the couple.

He tweeted: "Congratulations @TerriSeymour and Clark. Me and Lauren are very excited for you both. If it's a boy you can call him simon. (sic)"

Terri explained how Simon wouldn't mind if she had a girl however, as he'd be able to set her and his son Eric up together.

She said to HELLO! Magazine: "Immediately after congratulating me the first thing he said was he had to be the godfather.

"Then he said it was perfect timing with his son Eric being so young and he hoped I would have a baby girl so he could set her up with Eric and they could date. 'How perfect would that be,' he said. Typical Simon."

Simon was sworn to secrecy by Terri, because she wanted to break the news to Lauren herself.

"Lauren was in New York and Simon was in LA and I wanted to be the one to tell her.

"Amazingly, he managed to keep it a secret - he's usually terrible at keeping them so I wasn't sure he'd be able to do it.

"Lauren has been great. She has been amazing with baby tips, too."

The X Factor judge has previously been praised by Terri for being a natural father.

"He's great actually. I mean he hasn't changed his lifestyle because Simon wouldn't. But he's very good. He'd never even held a baby before, so he was like, 'How do you hold a baby?'

"You have to remind him every now and then about the head... But he's really good and he loves it.

"Everybody was like, 'Oh my God, this is going to be so strange' but it's all been very natural."
