The 56-year-old television presenter - who was dramatically sacked from 'Top Gear' in 2015 after arguing with one of the show's producers - has led his life in the spotlight and his 23-year-old daughter says she has paid the price and has had nasty comments chucked at her about her size since she was 17.

Opening up about being the daughter of a celebrity in her new book 'Can I Speak To Someone In Charge?' she says:

"There's only so many of these you can read before you want to lock yourself in a room and cry until you can't any more.

"I used to squeeze my eyes shut, cross my fingers and wish that when I woke up in the morning I would be thin. I did this every single night.

"Every day I would look at my reflection and grimace. Sometimes I would look at it and cry.

"I would grab fat rolls on my stomach and squeeze them together so tightly there were finger marks.

"There were times when I was so unhappy that after eating I would cry to the point where I was sick."

She goes on to reveal she's always struggled with her weight and her "enormous father" is probably to blame for her size, explaining: "I also know I will never be thin. I wasn't built that way. I have bosoms, rather large ones.

"I have an enormous father and some of his genes."

Emily, a size 10, is now happy with her body image but says her school days were particularly difficult because she hit puberty earlier than the other girls.

She explained: "I would look at my classmates, and all of them were so much thinner than me, and I wish that I had their bodies.

"Did it occur to me that the reason so many of them were so thin was they hadn't hit puberty and grown boobs or hips

yet?

"No... all I saw was ironing board upon ironing board."

Emily's debut book is out now and Jeremy previously admitting that he'd had "warm fuzzy" feelings over his daughter's huge success.
