The 45-year-old actor - who starred as the Ewok Wicket in 'Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi' in 1983 - has revealed how his grandmother helped to launch his acting career.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It boils down to one specific moment when she was in her kitchen listening to the radio and Lucasfilm put out an announcement saying they were looking for short people to feature in 'Star Wars'.

"That really was the point that launched me into that film and launched my career and I thank her dearly for it. If she could see where this has led me to now."

Warwick has returned to the money-spinning franchise as Wollivan in the new movie 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', and he's revealed it was his 18-year-old daughter Annabelle - who is also in the film - who helped him this time around.

He said: "I would drop her off at the studios and make it very apparent I was there.

"People would notice and eventually say, 'Why don't you hang around? We could use you.'"
